Proving that compassion, empathy and kindness are inherent in the human condition, the Tony and Olivier Award winning musical by Irene Sankoff and David Hein is based on real world events. After the events of September 11, 2001, forced all inbound flights to reroute, 38 planes and nearly 7,000 people were welcomed to the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, which almost doubled its population.
