Mary Ola Miller opened the Gallery of Art in 1966 on the corner of 4th and Harrison in an old gas station which now the Mural Wall! The Gallery of Art was the first art gallery in Panama City. In 1970 Mary Ola Miller purchased the building and ran gallery from 1970 until her death in 2011. Her son Maxwell Reynolds Miller leased the building in 2016 to Karen Williams who created the very successful and memorable Artist Cove until 2018, when hurricane Michael, a Category 5 storm ripped our lives apart. The historic building took a terrible beating. The sudden death of Maxwell Miller in 2021 created a ground swell of friends who concentrated on resurrecting The Gallery of Art under the leadership of his daughter, Starlett Miller Massey. In April of 2023, Starlett entrusted the gallery to Dr. Mark White & Kim Griffin White who are honored to continue the legacy of Mary Ola Miller and Maxwell Miller.
